Xcalibur replaced by Abed at Fnatic

Dota 2 Andreea “divushka” Esanu

Following a rough start in the Dota Pro Circuit, Fnatic announced a few changes in within their team.

First and foremost, they benched out Steve 'Xcalibur' Ye and welcomed to the team the SEA 10K MMR player Abed 'Abed' Yusop. This decision will bring Fnatic a penalty in qualifying points earned if they are to reach any of the minors and majors before the next shuffle window.

Despite my short stay in Fnatic’s active roster my experience in the team has been invaluable. I have learned so much from my teammates during our replay sessions. I will definitely try to find a new team to play with again and I want to thank everyone in Fnatic for the experience. - Steve 'Xcalibur' Ye

Since the start of the new season, Fnatic played in five tournaments qualifiers but haven’t been able to win any of them. However, a stroke of luck saw them participating at the ESL One Hamburg Major at the end of October, as replacements for HappyFeet, and last week they’ve been traveling to AMD SAPPHIRE Dota Pit Minor as replacements for Mineski. Unfortunately, they finished bottom two in both of the events and an imminent changed was expected by many, especially after Abed announced his departure from Digital Chaos a few weeks ago.

Abed joining Fnatic is not the only change that the organization is making. They also waved goodbye to their coach, Ahmad 'ADTR' Syazwan and welcomed Adam 'Adam/343' Shah in his place. Adam has been part of the Fnatic active roster and their drafter at The International 2016 when they placed 4th in Seattle, which is their best record so far.

Hyped to be part of FNATIC again. There's a long road ahead of us and I'm looking forward to the ride! - Adam 'Adam/343' Shah

Clearly Abed is much better. but He can still join better team. I hope to see Abed & ice^3 in the same team. It could be the best 4 team in the world. for sure.

    tnx god xcalibur was useless

The TI winning pattern is usually a young star position 2 guided by a championship caliber team. A new core talent is always pushed to maximum potential by a good leader which is key to success.

Stop the bullshit about "mid player is the key" or "mid player is big part of the key" based just on TI7 Champ. What about Wings Gaming? Was Blink some sort of people's star before his team raised the aegis? Just admit the fact that Liquid won TI7 mainly by their godlike support and offlaner who saved Liquid ass from being kicked countless of time, and also Kuro's draft and strat. Miracle contributed well to his team's victory but he also choked so many times that his fanboys seem to forget. And in all that choked games of him - the games in which the loser will be eliminated - his two teammates GH and Mind_control just played like gods and saved the whole team from going home. When Kuro was asked how he thought about his team and their contribution to success after the grand final, Kuro said plainly that Mind_coltrol and GH gave him that aegis that day, he also mentioned Mamtubaman and Miracle but not as grateful and thankful as when he said about the real MVP ones. Just stop here fanboys. Stop it before you gonna get hyped and proceed to find a match and insta pick invoker and choke and then feed then blame your other lanes without knowing you're the real pathetic shit.

^this shit right here. its like when EG won TI5 everybody is goin crazy abt sumail(i mean hes godly w his storm). but forgot the others especially Aui's techies

This is only true for EG with Suma1L.

I did say guided by a championship caliber team! ^_^ Understand that the strongest link is position 5 and 1 is the weakest. Now a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. So if the 2 becomes powerful early with help from 3 and 4 the team has basically won. We can go on and look at the teams since TI1 and see that my favored team WG was an exception. XIEXIE!
