LGD Gaming winner of WCA China

The last Chinese tournament of this season, WCA Chinese Pro Qualifiers has come to an end today featuring CDEC and LGD in the grand finals and Invictus Gaming versus Hyper Glory Team playing for the third place position.

Both games were played in a best of three format and both ended with a 2-0 score. The matchup between IG and HGT was a farming battle in the first game as HGT drafted Phantom Lancer for ZMJ and IG responded with a Broodmother for Luo. To keep the tempo with the farming machine that ZMJ has become once he finished  Radiance as his first item, a quite unusual item choice for this patch,  IG went for no less than three Hand of Midas, one on Chuan Crystal -Maiden, one on Luo - Broodmother and one for Burning on his Bloodseeker. The game ended quite fast despite the late game potential, IG emerging victorious in only 26 minutes.

The second game was pretty much one sided for IG who picked a Gyrocopter for Burning with which he was unstoppable, having a personal score of 17-0-6. With two harassing supports (Bounty Hunter and Lion) on his side, Burning had a perfect game, outfarming by far HGT’s Life Stealer and outplaying his opponents.  At the end of the day it was Invictus Gaming who placed third in WCA and now they can focus on their much needed preparation for The International.

The TI 5 Wild Card Chinese representatives CDEC have shown once again that they do stand a chance in this year’s most wanted tournament. Advancing in the grand finals after they defeated Vici Gaming with a clear 2 - 0 in the quarter-finals the young squad chocked in front of the favorites to win it all, LGD Gaming.

If the first game of the series was a show case of successful ganks from LGD who used MMY’s Winter Wyvern to its maximum potential which lead to a huge early advantage in gold and experience for them, the second game was a display of brute force coming out from Sylar’s Shadow Fiend. The confrontation between these two teams ended up in the second game after only 19 minutes and with LGD emerging victorious.

Prize pool distribution:

1st: $48,358.24 LGD Gaming
2nd: $24,179.12 CDEC Gaming
3rd: $16,119.41 Invictus Gaming
