Summit 3: EG no problem for EE-Sama and co.

Cloud 9 is in complete control in their first series at The Summit 3, taking a 17 minutes win in game one and starved Evil Geniuses for 37 minutes in game two. With the win, Cloud 9 will be facing Vici Gaming in the winner bracket final of Group A of The Summit 3 shortly.

You can read all about the games below.

Day 1 schedule:

18:30-21:00: VG vs Rave
21:00-23:30: EG vs Cloud9
00:00-02:30: VG vs C9

Game 1

Cloud9 picked a very cancerous line-up, mostly reminiscent of what you can see in regular -all pick games. EG went for a more ambiguous line-up and either line-up lacked a chain of disables. The semi aggressive classic lane of Phantom Lancer + Keeper of the Light of Cloud9 went top to contest the EG safelane. However it did not go as well as planned and they gave up first blood in form of a rather straight forward death. FATA did surprisingly well mid, mostly because of the Tornado support by Chen's creeps. As a result of the better start and SumaiL's lack of support, FATA solo killed him mid and then took his tower. Cloud9 applied pressure on the map while EG's supports were underfarmed.

With a haste rune aka "the s4 rune", FATA ran down EG's heroes one by one and claimed a triple kill, really showing off the weakness of not having a stun in EG's line-up. A lot of space was created for his team while he also finished his Shadow Blade. EG did not show their trademark team synergy and determination and seemed rather lost as Cloud9 picked off their heroes and towers one by one. They showed no signs of stopping and the game looked over already by minute 17. EG tapped out shortly after.

Game 2

Game two started extremely quiet as both teams seized the opportunity to farm up their cores. This worked out to the advantage of Cloud 9 considering they were last hitting better and aggressive trilane Naga was on par against the safe lane Queen of Pain. The first engagement of the game only happened on minute 9 where an even trade happened off a clutch Song of the Siren usage.

EG was the first to be the aggressor after the skirmish and although they managed to pick off Dragon Knight a few times, they were unable to transition that into a push. This allowed Naga Siren to freely farm on the bottom lane. Naga picked up her Radiance at 16 minutes, the 12th fastest Radiance pick up in history.

The purchase did not deteriorate EG's will to be the aggressor but they were powerless as Naga continued pushing all the lanes with her illusions. Whenever EG got a pick off, Naga would be on the other side of the map pushing the tier three towers.

The game came to a quick end when Cloud 9 won a battle near EG's base and considering all the tier 3 towers were already low on HP, Cloud 9 took down the barracks with ease. EG called the "gg" shortly afterwards.
