CDEC and LGD part ways, the team will now be sponsored by DouyuTV

Through their official Weibo account, the LGD organization announced that their second squad CDEC will no longer play under the LGD banner. The five players have acquired a new sponsor, DouyuTV, and the team will now be called CDEC.Douyu.

The secondary squad of LGD, formerly known as LGD.CDEC, is no longer affiliated with the organization according to LGD's announcement yesterday. Instead, the team will now be sponsored by the Chinese streaming platform DouyuTV and they will be called CDEC.Douyu from now on.

LGD.CDEC was formed back in April 2014, after the replacement of Yao 'Maybe' Lu by Xu 'Lin' Ziyang in the main LGD roster. Instead of leaving the club, Maybe was given the chance to lead a team of Chinese free agents and new talents that emerged from LGD's inhouse league, the Chinese DotA Elite Community (CDEC). The first months were rather rough for the new roster, as they seemed to find it rather difficult to create and execute their own strategies.

The post-TI4 period has been rather prosperous for CDEC, as the stability of their roster has been a huge asset against the newer squads that were formed during the Chinese reshuffle. They are currently ranked 17th in our international rankings and 5th in the Chinese rankings. Their solid performance, combined with their first prize winnings in September through i-League and WEC, show that CDEC is turning into one of the more fearsome opponents of the Chinese scene. It will be interesting to see how the team develops away from LGD, the club that has been their home for almost half a year.
