TongFu's run on G-League ends, DK advances into finals

TongFu's run on G-League has ended, as they were defeated by DK on straight games.

TongFu, who came off of big victories over VG and Speed Gaming, were handily defeated by the Group A leaders; DK. The first game was a blow-out, but TF had serious chances in the second game, before the big team fight wins for DK.

DK will be going up against iG in the Finals of G-League early next year. Not only are both teams the leaders of their respective groups in G-League 2013, they are also the winners of the last four G-League tournaments. iG won both G-League seasons last year.

Game 1

TongFu chose Slark as their first pick, and DK responded by a strong pushing line-up with a Pugna as the core. TF's goal would be to delay the game as long as possible, and hopefully long enough for them to farm up items and contest DK's strong nuke and early-game potential.

DK took control early as they would have hoped, and they were able to dictate and roll through the bottom lane with their Nyx, Rubick and Pugna trio. They were dedicated to pushing, building four Arcane boots across their team. There was not much TF could do to stop the push, as they found themselves deprived of all their Tier-2 towers at the 14th minute mark. TongFu lost another team fight at the bottom lane just a minute later, and they decided that they were already too underleveled and underfarmed to try to make a comeback. They called the GG while DK was just making their way to the opponent's base.

Game 2

Both teams went for mini-combos: DK had the Shadow Demon which compliments well with the Mirana and the Kunkka, while TongFu had the roaming duo of Rubick and Leshrac.

DK constantly looked for kills on the Luna, which they were able to get a couple of times early on. TongFu, however, made their way back via pickoffs behind single-hero RPs and the Telekinesis-Split Earth combo. The bright light for DK was that they are able to get a lot of farm on the Timbersaw, especially compared to the enemy Bristleback. Luna was already starting to accelerate her farm, but DK found a favorable engagement down at the bottom lane wherein they took three heroes and forced two buybacks.

Mirana went with a full glass-cannon build, going for a Desolator, Yasha, MKB into Daedalus item progression. DK safely destroyed the outer towers, and then a big skirmish happened on the top lane at the 42nd minute. Despite a relatively good RP, it was still DK who ended up on top, completing a team-wipe while forcing out several buy-backs. They were able to claim Mega creeps even before the full TF team had respawned, and the end came not long after.
