The DSG Game Changers team is made up of popular Twitch streamers, all of whom will head into Open Qualifiers in April.
Content creator Disguised Toast has revealed an all-new Valorant team composed of Twitch streamers called the DSG Game Changers. This is the streamer’s second Valorant team and unlike its sibling 
Disguised it seems to be built specifically for VCT Game Changers, a program that includes tournaments centered around women and other marginalised genders.
DSG himself describes the DSG Game Changers lineup as, “more for memes,” as the team includes some of the most popular female content creators in the Valorant space, such as Alicia ‘Kyedae’ Shymko, who is currently battling leukemia. The team also features Jodi ‘QuarterJade’ Lee, Tenzin and Sydney ‘Sydeon’ Parker. Lydia ‘Tupperware’ Wilson sticks out as a member of this team, seeing as she’s an experienced esports player who was previously signed with Immortals.

These are some pretty big names for an esports team, and they’re certainly going to make the upcoming Open Qualifiers a whole lot more entertaining to watch. That being said, DSG is also facing a small bit of backlash on Twitter over this lineup, with some users arguing that it’s unfair for the streamer to look over ‘actual players’ in favour of popular streamers to form the team.
This comes down to the fact that DSG had originally looked for up-and-coming players to form a Game Changers team online, before pivoting to this all-streamer lineup. DSG took to Twitter to address these complaints by assuring fans that every member of the team is, “taking this event very seriously and they all meet the criteria set out by Riot to participate.”
He also explained that while he got a few good player recommendations online, he felt like he wouldn’t be able to put together a solid team in just under a month, seeing as the Game Changers Open Qualifiers are right around the corner. He then went on to say that fans can’t, “gatekeep them from this event just because they are streamers,” and, “no player is owed anything in the competitive scene.”
Regardless, DSG Game Changers will make their esports debut on April 4, during the Game Changers North America Series 1 Open Qualifiers. If the team gets into the Top Eight of the qualifiers, they’ll qualify for the main event, which in turn gives them the chance to qualify for the 2023 Game Changers Championship. Who knows? This team could have what it takes to bring it all home.
