GosuGamers translated an interview with Russia's WarCraft 3 star Nikita "Nicker" Pomadov conducted by Replays.net. In it we find out about his current living situation in Shanghai and much more.
- "I have to travel to the other site of town to practice at PanDa's training base," says Nicker.

Hi, Nicker. How is life like for you in Shanghai now that you are living there? For example, with regards to your new training environment, etc.

- "Hello everyone. Indeed, recently I have been living in Shanghai with my Russian friends. I strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle, so twice every week I will make it a point to play football at the university near where I am staying.

The place I'm currently residing at does not have a computer, and while there are three internet cafes nearby, I can't practice at any of them because the computers there are really run down. Furthermore, I cannot use my own mouse or keyboard.

Hence, I have to travel to the other site of town to practice at PanDa's (gaming organisation) training base. Although the entire trip takes away two hours of my day, I still believe that it is worthwhile."

You were defeated by TH000 in a previous competition - what are your thoughts on him as a player? What was the main contributing factor behind your loss?

- "Before the match, my computer ran into a couple of technical issues, plus my Warcraft 3 kept glitching. Adding to that, I was playing on a widescreen monitor, and I couldn't reset it back to a normal resolution.

The competition had to go on, and since I had never played on a widescreen resolution before, I could not get used to it in time. Reflecting on this fills me with much regret. I guess, also, the map we played on favored Human players."

This is your second time participating at ECL. What are your thoughts on the competition?

- "It's very similar to the way it was run the previous time - I like it very much. The organizers and staff were a great help in general and service was excellent. However, it was uncommon of them to start the first round matches at 21:30, and because the computers we played on were pretty old, I met with many technical difficulties."

Do you like Chinese food? You don't look like a guy who is accustomed to Chinese cuisine. (Nicker eats fast food, and when he does, he eats two thirds of his portion and throws the rest away.)
- "Oh, it's my favorite. Whenever I get the opportunity, I will have myself some Chinese food. We go a long way back. *smiles*"

What are your plans for the future? What do you plan to do after ECL?

- "I have some activities lined up for November as well as some competitions I intend to attend. I plan to stay in China to train and then attend WCG in December. Even though I'm currently without a team, I do hope everything goes according to plan."

Thank you for accepting this interview by Replays.net. You'll be heading to WCG pretty soon. Are there any words of encouragement you would like to offer yourself?

- "不客气! (You're welcome!) I do hope to achieve outstanding results at WCG - as we all know, it is just around the corner. If I'm not able to improve on my results this time, it will definitely be a heavy blow to me, and also it's a let down to all the fans who have constantly been supporting me.

I try my best all the time but sometimes I meet with failure. Whatever the case is, I will never give up! All the best!"
