Canada's second best and It's Gosu zerg Christopher "Ostojoiy" Ostojic announced today that he will not be attending the WCS grand finals as he must focus on his studies. EG's Suppy will step in his shoes.

After getting the silver in his country's WCS national championship, Ostojiy qualified for the North American continentals where - after falling to HuK - he would fight tooth and nail through the losers bracket to finish in the top eight and earn the precious seed for the grand final this November. Unfortunately, school-related issues are to prevent Ostojiy from attending the closing event.

Ostojiy's statement on reddit

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to make a formal post on my withdrawal from blizzard's WCS. I put a lot of effort into training and performing my best at WCS:Canada and WCS:North America, and these tournaments were probably two of my best, so making this call was really heartbreaking. Despite making the decision at the beginning of the year to put school ahead of gaming, when I was given a choice between going to one of the largest events in eSports history or likely failing a course and thus my program I was really quite torn. Ultimately there was nothing I could do to make it work with the administration so I was forced to withdraw. I apologize to everyone that supported me and was looking forward to seeing me play in China.
Best of luck to EG's Suppy, he is an incredible player with an awesome personality that I'm sure will do a great job in my stead.

Ostojiy's replacement is the next best player in North America, in this case EG's Conan "Suppy" Liu, who finished 10th in the continental finals.
