GosuGamers can report that the reigning champion Chris "HuK" Loranger will not be participating in the group stage of the €1,500 Razer StarCraft 2 GosuCup.
The top four from last season: HuK, Benoit "AdelScott" Strypsteen, Giacomo "Socke" Thüs and Nick "LastShadow" De Cesare all received an direct seed into the group stage, but after today's reports the Canadian Protoss will not be taking part in the GosuCup.
This after HuK's addressed his concern of playing against North Americans and Europeans from South Korea. After not finding a way for him to play while in Europe, he decided to forfeit.
GosuGamers will put together a last-minute qualifier with the losing semi finalists of the six qualifiers to determine which will take his spot.
