Interview with EmpireKas

Congratulations on qualifying for the Razer GosuCup group stage! How does it feel?

EmpireKas:
Thx, it's a great feeling. I wasn't thinking I would qualify from my first try , but looks like it was my day :).

You defeated AureS in the semi final. In the third game you accidentally played Protoss. You seemed to play okay - do you play with Protoss often?

EmpireKas:
I played protoss for some time in the beta, but I realized I didn't want to play with it. However, when you play many games, and when you play versus Protoss you see what builds they use so you can easily copy it. With time when you get better, your skill level with other races increase even though you don't train with it.

Playing AureS in the TvT as it was in the other three games - what do you think made you win? Any key points in the games you feel gave you the advantage?

EmpireKas:
I think aures is a very good player, some time ago I was learning from his gameplay a lot, but at the moment I am training much more. I am slightly faster in every moment, and my reaction in game is faster, so a couple of details made a win for me.

You will now play your team mate Nerchio in the final. Does it feel anything special that you two are on the same team?

EmpireKas:
Nothing special. He is a good player, and he is Zerg. I'm very bad vs zergs so it will be really hard for me, but i will try to make good games.

You come from a WarCraft 3 background. We've recently seen many ex WC3 players dominate the European and North American scene. What is your thoughts on the reason for you guys doing so well? A numbers game, or does your WC3 skills come better in hand with
SC2 than what BW did?

EmpireKas:
I don't think Wc3 players are doing so well. At least it's a new game and wc/sc2 have same chances to be progamers, sure its small difference at micro/macro, but overall i think whoever has more motivation and desire to win will be at the top.

Alright then, best of luck in the final and in the group stage to come! Any last words?

EmpireKas:
Thx to my fans and team empire for their support, thx to sponsor thermaltake and to all who believe in me :)

Interview with EmpireNerchio

Congratulations on qualifying for the group stage for the GosuCup! How does it feel?

EmpireNerchio:
I feel great, it's my first qualifier because before that I had my exams in school. So I am happy I qualified in first one!

You played BabyKnight in the semi final. What did you think of his style?

EmpireNerchio:
It was really standard but I do quite good versus protoss and most of the maps suited me.

The casters said that you had him on tilt in the last game. You went for an 8-pool. What was your thoughts when you saw his fast nexus?

EmpireNerchio:
I expect people to go fast expand on this map so I usually do some cheesy stuff on that map. I do it most of the time and I don't think he watches streams of me playing so he didn't expect it at all. (laughs) I was sure to win when I saw the nexus.

Tell us about the other two games. He went sort of greedy sentry build.

EmpireNerchio:
I think it was pretty standard in the second game but he didn't build a zealot which is kind of weird. You can easily force a forcefield
however that sounds, and because he wasted two force fields I was able to roach-ling attack him without too many problems. Tthe first game I saw his low sentry count so I knew it was either stargate build
or dark templar so I prepared for that and went mutas from there on and won.

You have quite a creative and reactin-fast play style. You will go up against either Kas or AureS in the final - who do you think will fit your style the most?

EmpireNerchio:
I definitely prefer Aures, but I am pretty sure Kas is going to win because he's a macro monster. And I got big chances to win with Aures. But it will be hard to beat Kas. Unfortunately creative style doesn't work too well against Terrans, mostly versus Protoss.

What would you suggest to other zerg players to do against Terrans?

EmpireNerchio:
For now, roach/ling/infestor and quick tech to broodlords works quite well but Terrans slowly learn how to beat it so zergs will probably need to mix this style and ling/bane/muta. too many zergs go standard ling/bane/muta because they are scared to try something else

You are playing for Empire. Tell us, how has your time with the team been!

EmpireNerchio:
I don't think it differs from playing in other teams. To be honest I don't play too much with team mates. But we meet often in the tournaments because they are really skilled :D I am more of a ladder-competitive person. Custom games don't suit me. I don't have motivation to play custom games because on ladder you get at least points and in customs the pace at which you learn is really slow I know that's incorrect way of thinking
but that's the way it is for me ;D anyway there is not many builds u can prepare with zerg so custom games are better for P/T.

What do you think of the current state of the Zerg? With the patch in mind, recent win from NesTea in GSL?

EmpireNerchio:
I think it's better than it was but I feel like zerg is still little underpowered and on the other hand in certain situations
infestors might be too strong :P And about NesTea, I feel like he is much better player than opponents he met the game is still too much luck dependand
if we look at players that went to up/down matches like mc or mvp. As for the patch didn't change too many things so it didn't really affect zerg gameplay

Alright, anything else you would like to say? Shoutout to your fans, sponsors?

EmpireNerchio:
Thanks to my sponsors Seagate and Thermaltake! Shoutout to team Empire and my fans if I have any, haha!
