Testbug is the first three-player map we have seen in the competitive map pool so far and it will be most interesting how the games will turn out. The naturals are nicely tucked in, close to the main, with a moderate size choke. Players will also be able to secure a relatively save third as such expos are conveniently located on sides of the natural. Some very forward gold expansions are also available on the map.
Re Pawn is a 2-player map, much similar to Steppes of War on first sight. The players will be able to secure an easy third far away from their opponents and the late game will revolve around the centre of the map, filled with various high-grounds and four additional bases - two normal and two gold ones.
The updated ESL pool now contains Xel'Naga Caverns, Metalopolis, Lost Temple, Shakuras Plateau, Scrap Station, Re Pawn and Testbug.
We remind you that the GSL will also feature new maps so there is definitely much dynamics in the development of SC2 .
It is yet to be determined if the new maps will enter the EPS pool and this will probably be decided after additional testing.
