Congratulations on winning the first instalment of GosuCup Invitational! How do you feel?
- It feels really great to win such a big tournament with so many good players!
Did you expect to be placed on the final bracket line in the beginning of the tournaments? What expectations did you have?
- Well, I remember saying that this tournament is gonna be hard to predict because it runs over so many weeks so that players develop during that time. My goal entering this tournament was Top 3, but I knew it would be hard.
Did you prepare anything extra for this match today?
- I usually just play ladder games, but the last 2 days I've been playing a lot with Strelok. We played about 20 games so that really helped me today.
What do you think of LucifroN's opening strategy of Reaper->Hellion->Expansion? Was that something you had practiced against?
- The reaper opening is hard to deal with when you don't have Queens in place. So that's why I did fast expansion in most of the games just to get a queen at each base. I haven't really played against it lately, but some weeks ago every Terran on the ladder did the Reaper opening so I knew how to deal with it.
Which players do you think have evolved the most over the course of these weeks' tournament time span?
- I think ZpuX is the player that has evolved most. He's been getting far in almost every tourney that he plays including winning ZOTAC and getting to the finals in ESL.
How much would you say you have evolved since we saw you defeat Pusher a month ago? And how?
- I think two things have changed in my play. I used to think that Hydras suck versus Protoss and that Mutalisks suck against Terran. But now I can say that Hydras are really good versus Protoss and Mutas work pretty good versus Terran (laughs)
Could you explain your thoughts behind your 2-drone-rush on Steppes of War?
- I was expecting him to do a fast barracks so I wanted to disturb him as much as possible. But I was also planning to take both his gases but that didn't work out because I was too occupied trying to kill a second SCV.
You were scheduled for another tournament match today that you had to postpone. Do you feel a bit overwhelmed with all the events going on right now?
- No, I'm really happy there are so many tournaments going on, the reason it got hectic today was because of the recent patch that forced lots of games to be moved to a different time.
Could you have imagined such a good break for you in the StarCraft 2 beta when receiving your key?
- No, not at all. I wasn't expecting to be winning as much as I am now.
