Tournaments in the USA has in th epast caused trouble with VISA issues, and it has struck now again. The Croatian Zeus and the Korean Zacard will not attend CPL Summer 2005 to due to VISA problems.
Cyperathlete Extreme Summer Championships 2005, one of the biggest tournaments in gaming, is only one day ahead, blasting off at the same time as the ESWC. CPL Summer 2005 will take place in 
Texas, at the new Gaylord Texan resort. The resort is 40,000 square feet full of meeting and convention space, as well as acres with indoor gardens. Here the game competitions will take place - where the players will compete to get a share of the total tournament prize sum of $220,000 USD. Even if the event is mostly based on First-person-shooter games, WarCraft III has a 1on1 tournament, where the prize money is at $20,000 USD.48-man Double Elimination tournament
The WarCraft III tournament will consist of 48 pre-registered players, seeded by the CPL commitee based on previous CPL achievements and in the Cyberathlete Amateur League WarCraft 3 division. It is a Double Elimination tournament, without any group stage before, meaning a player can only afford to lose two matches to still be in the tournament.
Zeus and Zacard misses CPL - VISA problems
The discussed seeding and participation list for the tournament looks different each week, because of players not attending, seeding changes, VISA problems or players taking part in ESWC instead. Players participating in ESWC instead of CPL are
4K.Grubby and 
SK.Insomnia. Two other players that will not attend CPL although they were on the original list are 
4K.Zeus and 
SK.Zacard (pic), who because of problems with getting a VISA (special permit for travelling to USA) will not attend. Additionally, 
MaDFroG and Aether has decided, for no known reason, to not attend CPL.Tournament starting Thursday
