Official StarCraft II Tech Trees

Blizzard revealed the official tech trees for the current build of StarCraft 2.
While this might not be totally accurate of what will be ruled in the official beta, these tech trees were the ones available in the latest press event.

| zerg tech tree is fail... not onyl zerg needs to build way more tech buildings to be able to make all available units than terran or toss (aka he looses way more drones) but also ...who in the name of god places lurkers at tier 3 next to ultralisks? what kind of choice is that lol... unless ofc lurker is 3 times stronger than in sc1 (in hp department) and toss tech tree is imba >.< |

| #5 ultralisk seems so imba and zerg users stop whining about lurkers, there will be more ways to deal with enemy even w/o using them |
| i cant imagine lurkers after hive tech. maybe they should put banelings after hive, and lurkers after lair, as usual |
| Terran has way to many buildings and only 2-3 effective ground units ?? PLus he's got too many flying units, most of them available after starport. This game should have more possibilities which means more units to choose. At least 2 melee units + 2 mid range + 2 long range + 3-4 flying units + 2-3 special units + transporter. Something to choose from. Not that u build milions of buildings and fight with mass made from 1-2 units. |
| Lurker after lair is a good idea. He's way too strong and can be made too fast in SC1. Protoss seems to be the most effective race. Each one building gives some new unit that can change the strategy in a second. |
| #8 its not that bad, just now sg serves as sg+citadel of adun (techwise) Dunno what to think about lurkers, on one hand i remember something about them countering stalkers (while in SC its other way - goons > lurkers) in video from like blizzcon or wwi? But on the other hand its too far in tech tree, way too far. Plus i dont like fact that hive tech is totally offensive tech. P.S. I'm T user and i have to say 1 thing - being able to build 4 types of units just from Starport+addon - lol imba :D Plus i like broadening uses of E-bay :) Plus dunno if void ray being available so early will be good. Time will tell... :P |

| #4 well the advantage of zerg is that they only need the building and can hatch any larvae from that point on into the specific unit. so i wouldnt be concerned too much about it. the thing is that the graphics lack the clearity starcraft broodwar had. its more like wc3 when i see the newest hd gameplay video... i dont like the mothership either.. nevermind. |

| IT SEEMS like a INVISIBLE units have been moved up to the tech tree instead so there is no more quick dt /lurker rush that sort of trash and these tech trees tottaly sucks espcially for zerg in sc1 zerg used to be the fastest strat changer(needed hardly any buildings for tech) and now P has got the most advantge for proxies and such rofl ^^ gay game |

| omg.. to many buildings in zerg.. srsly.. + zerg can only build on creep, terran and toss can build everywhere! no more flexibility in playing zerg now i guess... :/ now you got to go a specific build to play. buying all this tech shit + hatcheries will ruin ure economy for sure! T.T buying all the tech + 3 hatcheries and 4 sunkens and gas on 2 exp = 22 drones lost and now i just counted in one evolution chamber.. and where should you put 11 buildings in such a little ratio? and including macro hatcheries and sunkens? toss tech tree seems to be fast. but stargate to build ht's and dt's wtf? and btw! terran seem to have like all there units in just the starport lol x,D 8 starport gogo? hope they change terran and zerg tech tree. plz dont have 4 units in just starport! and plz dont have lurkers in tech 3! its pointless to have lurkers when you can tech to ultras instead |

| cant wait for the Beta tbh! This looks awesome, but if people are dissapointed, dont be too sad about this. Since we are the one's who can change all of this. If we feel the game isnt done correctly and well balanced we are the ones' to tell blizzard about it when the Beta is being tested. ^^ |
| OMG this game is in for HUUUUGE balance tweaks. i do my best not to see similarities in sc2 and wc3 but yet everytime i see toss base it's as if i'm looking at night elf. that plus i dont understand WHERE ARE 12-16 gate vs 8 fact or 8 rax vs 10 hatchery's games ?!?! why is everything STILL on such a small scale |

| Don't look at new lurkers this way as they role in a sequel is much different. For invisible splash damaging units, you can have the banelings, which are ultra effective already, if used well. | #4: How is toss tech tree IMBA? You can't get templars until stargate! Lurker has to be a lot better, otherwise it wouldn't be so far up there I love the terran tech tree, just looking at it made me want to switch from P to T in sc2. Eng-Bay = Gosu |
| I think Blizzard should release the game , not more pictures or videos, if we could try it out , we could realize why are things good or bad in the game , now we can watch stupid gameplay trailers. Its like talking about eating , so here are some pictures of the new pizzas and hamburgers and etc , oh by the way they are made from fresh beaf meat and potatoes , with delicious onion rings... f*ck that , i wanna play game as i wanna eat food, not see how other people are eating ... | as soon as ppl get fast hands and learns the game protoss is gonna dominate fucking everything, basically toss got all the cool spells and units. terran doesnt have shit from what ive seen :( not even medics... btw protoss tech tree is kind of different from before they need stargate for templar archives and reaver bay ^^ |
| hope zerg buildings are much faster/cheaper to build otherwise playing 15 min with lings will really suck. |
| the robotics facility will probably unlock the robo bay later, i doubt they gonna have all 4 last tier buildings depend on the stargate thats ridiculous |

| 38# in the same way as they did with zerg.. Hive = lurkers Stargate = templars dunno why terran should have seigetank mode so early when the other races aint having lurkers or templars though :o well I guess they know what they are doing. |
| lurkers can out range photon cannons in sc2 btw. They are very powerful |

| @all Lurkers are Tier3 cuz, as #41 said, they have 9 range now, and do 15+15 on armored dmg, so they are now Zergs 'Siege Tank'. Also teach Trees are great for all 3 races and they definitely do make sense... |
| #16 i doubt Dts will be that bad, zerg needs lair tech +to get overseers(overlords that detect stealth) #43, hopefully lurkers won't be too similar to brood lords, because guardians(brood lords) were pretty much the equivalent to siege tanks in SC:BW. @ everyone in this thread, we are all noobs at starcraft 2, we all suck and we can't micro any of the units at all. Hardly any of us have played starcraft 2. So anyone saying OMG LURKER HIVE TECH IS DUMBBB can shut the fuck up. |

| #44 Actually Brood Lords are now Morphed from Corruptors in the latest build, and they are Siege units, but not in that way, they are wreaking havoc cuz of mantelings(new name for Broodlings...) and they are not Huge range units + Lurkers got splash ;) The only thing i dont like is model of Brood Lord... Its fucking awful and disgusting... It looks like Manta and not Zergish at all. I dig the new spine Crawlers with Tentacles ;))) |
| Lurkers used to counter zealots/marines. Now Benelings can do that. I'm sure that Lurkers will counter something better than ultras do. I don't think blizzard just thought it would be cool to make it tear 3. It's probably a result after a lot of testing. |
