Vulcun vs MRN kicked off with Vulcun being an absolute monster in the early game. MRN would find themselves walking into an obvious mistake in an engage bottom which would snowball mandatorycloud's Ryze with 3 kills.
The early RoA would bring a lot of pain and punishment to MRN and the pressure he could apply alone made it quite easy for Zuna to gain an awesome amount of power. By being a heavy offensive force as well as finishing an early Glacial Shroud to build up to Frozen Heart, Vulcun's late game was developed a little too early for MRN to handle and caused them the day's first defeat.
The game kicked off looking fairly even at first. Complexity, not eager to disappoint, showed a prominent entrance into the laning phase by appearing to have the edge over the now dominating Team Solomid. However, after a poor exchange middle, Reginald was able to snowball his Karthus into an unstoppable position.
Despite Complexity's champion select mindgames, taking away most of the key champions that Team Solomid are comfortable with and utilizing it themselves, they were not able to secure a win. Team Solomid entered the match extremely solid and claimed their rightful victory.
While Curse has been a monster all season long, it seems with the nerfing of early game junglers, they are taking a heavy hit. Before super week, Curse had never lost to a bottom 4 team. This week, it almost happened again, but they redeemed themselves.
Early on, MRN had a rather substantial lead on top of Curse Gaming, grabbing the first dragon for free. Yearning to avoid shame, Curse buckled up and started playing like the first place team that they are. They managed to swing a comeback in their favor and even though NyJacky had his first death in the last 4 days, him along with Saintvicious closed out the game with some impressive KDA's. Near the end of the game, Curse had made a complete turnaround in their favor.
The middle game of the night would feature Good Game University attempting to grab vengeance for their loss of a support player who was pryed from their hands by Vulcun. The game would go back and forth and show just how much these two teams wanted a win, but there's only one winner in League of Legends.
Good Game University, while having been on a hot streak and the opposite boding for Vulcun, have switched roles this weekend so far. Good Game University was not able to pull a win against Vulcun, who used their enthusiasm and aggression to make the plays that would lead them to victory.
The next game shows absolutely phenomenal play on the side of Dignitas. Between Patoy and Crumbzz, the patience of the team's carefully calculated decision making and engagements allowed them to pull ahead of the oftentimes overzealous Curse. The game spanned out relatively even with both teams fighting heavily for dominance; however, somewhere along the line, it would appear that Curse was cracking.
Dignitas did their homework and it showed with their excellent play that punished the sometimes greedy nature of Curse Gaming. With the Volibear and Singed synergy, they were very capable of catching Cop and the rest of Curse out of position and capitalizing. It wasn't long before Dignitas swept up the victory and put Curse Gaming dangerously close to dropping out of first place.
The last game of the night would be a real nail-biter for Counter Logic Gaming as it would mean the difference between securing their fourth place or leaving it wide open. Doublelift tests the waters and utilizes the labor of his scrims to bring in the Tristana for his first time in the LCS. HotshotGG gets his way with his split-pushing Shen and Vulcun decides against picking the ever-so-successful Nidalee on Mandatorycloud.
While Vulcun did manage to secure the first tower, they were primarily at a deficit for a great majority of the game. However, when Mandatorycloud's Ryze got big, he gave Counter Logic Gaming a lot of trouble before they figured out how to single him out in team fights. In a dragon gone wrong, Aphromoo actually managed to accidentally steal a dragon from Vulcun by a roaming Q.
After Counter Logic Gaming nailed some fantastic synergetic ultimates, they were able to sweetp Vulcun in team fights and slow push the inhibitors to victory.
