MSL: BoxeR defeats Nal_rA

[s]event_276[/s]

Pringles MBCGame Starleague Season started today! We got to see four games, where BoxeR defeated Nal_rA, and PuSaN[S.G] surprisingly lost to SiLveR. A great start for BoxeR's possibly last Starleague, don't you think?

The first round of MSL was played earlier today at 12:00, where we got to see four set of games where half of the players in the event battled it out. Just like last season, four players from each group steps up on the scene to play eachother with the ambition to be the top two players to advance.

As mentioned in a » previous article, there are 16 players where four were seeded from placing Top 4 in the last season, and the remaining 12 comes from Survivor League. Top notch names such as ChoJJa, Midas, XellOs, and last but not least BoxeR who most likely plays his last Starleague is in this league, who might just even out the popularity of the OSL. Enough ramblings, here are the results.

MSL Week #1 Group A & B
Korea Savior[gm] > TerAtO @ Longinus
Korea Yell0w[Name] > CaSy[Name] @ New Peaks
Korea Nal_rA < BoxeR @ Blitz
Korea SiLveR > PuSan[S.G] @ Arcadia

Savior wins first game of the season - defeating TerAtO

Savior started the first Pringles MSL Season 2 game, and did so by defeating TerAtO quite easily. He went fast Lair, and did a well-timed rush with Mutalisks and Zerglings. The fast expand by TerAtO didn't help, who had too few units and cannons.

Yell0w[Name] defeated his guild mate CaSy[Name], also known as Bifrost on the map New Peaks of Baekdu in a great game where Yell0w shows why he is known as the Terran-killer. Lots of drops from Yell0w, and having a big pressure on his team mate made him win this match.

BoxeR last (?) StarLeague started with victory

The third match was between the giants BoxeR (picture) and Nal_rA started out with both players taking their naturals, and BoxeR quite fast expands yet again. After harmlessly pounding eachother a bit, Nal_rA goes for Carriers which BoxeR quickly sees. Adding 5 factories and pushing on very confidently, there was not really much that the Protoss god could do.

The fourth and last game stood between PuSaN[S.G] and SiLveR. Many thought that PuSaN were to win this, but Silver played very well by going lurkers and hydralisks, from harassing to mass drops in PuSaN's base. Despite great micromanagement from PuSaN and his reavers, Silver advanced in to the main base of PusaN, eliminating the natural and the mineral only expansion on the way.

The Templars are disappointed

A sad day for the Protoss players, who all lost. A little anecdote told at TeamLiquid by Korea Ilikestarcraft was that after the BoxeR versus Nal_rA game the majority of the people left the studio. Tomorrow the Ongamenet Starleague will start, and we will get to see six matches. More information and coverage of the Korean scene tomorrow.
