DH: Interview with an ill Mireille

We hunted down iG.Mireille and checked his pulse for the upcoming final tomorrow on stage at DreamHack Summer 2005 against Daaman. He told us that he had been ill the whole day. He even threw up (!) three times today.

Did you think you would make it this far?
No, actually I did not, mainly of the reason that I am ill. Real ill. I have been just as much at the toilet throwing up as I have been sitting by the computer. I had no expectations at all, actually.

That was no exaggeration on that question, no?
- Nah, well, yeah, of course! But I actually threw up three times, and I have not felt good at all today.

How much has this affected your gaming level?
- It has not reduced the gaming level itself, it's more my stamina. I can play one great game, but then I'm totally beat.

What are your predictions for the final?
- I don't know really. I believe that Daaman will win.


When was the last time you played him in any official match?
- I faced him in RixHack this spring. As I said earlier, I think he wins despite my advantage of leading with one best of three.

All you have to do is to win two games. You don't think you will beat him?
- No, partly because I'm not in shape at all and ill, partly because he is a really great player.

Which part weighs the most - you being ill or him being a really great player?
- Me being ill.

A lot of evasive answers today, but that's alright. The player Dizrezpect was quite the surprise. Was he good?
- He played pretty good. It was really surprising that he beat Daaman in Winner Bracket, which made me happy since I did not have to face Daaman. But he played good.

You were in both the DreamHack final last winter and in the RixHack final this spring. How will the nervousness take part in your gaming once on stage?
- It has become a lot better since the last DreamHack final. After the game against JessE I was pretty lost, kind of absent. This time I'll do better.
