After nearly two months of group stage matches, the ESL Major League playoffs begin this weekend for the Americas region The third season of this great tournament series will give us, and the american teams, another opportunity to evaluate the top of the American scene. Tempo Storm and Cloud9 both went undefeated in their respective groups, and both COGnitive Gaming and compLexity Gaming proved their position as close seconds. These four teams will now be playing in a double elimination Bo3 bracket, where they will compete for a total of $10,000 USD in prize money.

As shown in the bracket, Tempo Storm will meet COGnitive in the first round, while compLexity Gaming will have to find a way to deal with Cloud9. Tempo Storm and Cloud9 have long been the uncontested top teams, yet slowly but surely both COG and coL have been bridging the gap. We can expect very aggressive compositions again from COG, since they came very close to defeating Tempo Storm at MSI MGA. Meanwhile, compLexity Gaming is the team that can usually be expected to play compositions that include Abathur.

The games will be streamed on the ESL Heroes channel, and will all be casted by the duo of SolidJakeGG and Zoia. The broadcast will go live at 21:00 CEST, and will start with the Tempo Storm versus COGnitive Gaming matchup.
