Cloud 9 Maelstrom is arguably the best team in Heroes. Their team play and coordination (have you seen their Malfurion + Stiches hook to root combo?) makes strategies and team comps that look insane actually work our pretty well.
Case in point, the match that starts at around 3:15:05 on the above KingCaffeine's past broadcast.
The Push
The strategy is so simple I can't believe I haven't thought of it. If the purpose of the coins is to destroy buildings, can't you just ignore the coins altogether and destroy buildings more efficiently? A 4-man push with Gazlowe, Zagara, Uther and Kael'thas in bottom lane is pretty hard to stop, especially if they never, ever, stop pushing.
Ever.
Meanwhile, Chen (Played by KingCaffeine himself) is on the top lane, bouncing back and forth between mid lane to soak exp and farm regeneration globes. This allows C9M to stay on top of EXP soak and still maintain a crazy push bottom lane. Very fun to watch.
Is this strategy viable? Maybe. There's a good chance the 4-man C9M group (with NickHots filling in the for 5th spot) heavily outskilled the enemy team and this strategy is more of a pub stomp maneuver, but the effectiveness of the push shows some potential. Sacrificing 10 coins in order to push more than what 12 cannon balls could ever do is a non-intuitive way to get the leg up on your opponent.
