PGTour refuses to treat BM

[s]pgtour[/s]

Bad manner has always existed in our community. We administrators do whatever we can to stop it and create a nice playing ground for the users. A vital step has been taken by the PGTour administration by announcing their new policy: Manner & Rudeness.

Canada Pat at PGTour recently posted an article bringing up their policy "Manner & Rudeness". He explains how the PGTour staff have to remain professional, helpful, mannered and never burst out to their users. He mentions that this is very important in large communities like the one Pat and the rest of PGTour are hosting.
- You need to be a professional at all times to survive and one can not act as if we were managing a small team, clan or something similar, says Pat. This rule, policy or what you want to call it has been a vision of Pat's ever since they launched PGTour. He promised himself that PGTour would never tolerate a bad or impolite staff member.

I am sort of asking them to be treated like "shit" and do nothing but just accept it and help the user

The column further goes on that even if the users should act exact the opposite way of the policy of the PGTour administrators, they should not be dragged down to their level. Pat shares one of the key rules a PGTour staff member gets as soon as he clicks the 'Admin' panel. Every user deserves to be respected in every situation, no matter what. With this comes a really unfair situation for the staff members, of course. If a member goes on and on of "how much that admin sucked", made a mistake and so on, the staff member can just live with it and help them.
- I am sort of asking them to be treated like "shit" and do nothing but just accept it and help the user, says Pat who sounds two-sided with this treatment, but he brings up other facts as well in the column.

With this principle, PGTour has lost many good staff members, and this goes for the rest of the community's administrators as well. However, Pat says that he will never give up on this principle, but instead supporting another good rule which protects and maintains a good service:
If a user posts a complaint or is asking for help in an insulting, impolite or rude manner, our staff will be asked to close the topic and explain that the issue or the complaint will not be addressed until presented in a polite manner.

"We want to help you, we want to accomodate you, we want to do EVERYTHING that we can to make you happy, that is why PGTour was made," says Pat, and as the editor-in-chief at GosuGamers I can do nothing but agree. Pat further says that we only ask for one thing in return - Remain polite toward us, toward all our staff that work for you, hours and hours, every day.

This policy is the one all sites should have, and the users as well. A good mannered community is what we (GosuGamers) strive for as well, and the way PGTour has expressed themselves is a very vital step into making it there.
