First matches in NGL One was played today. The first match stood between SK-Gaming and its little brother SK Germany. The second was a battle between AoD-Gaming and mTw.expekt.
And so the NGL One finally started. The "King of the Hill", or "team battle" format, meaning each team picks four players out of their lineup. And then the teams battle on until one team have no players left. A quick-paced qualifier was held, where Serious Gaming and SK-Germany filled the last spots. The latter mentioned, SK-Germany, was earlier today up against their big
brothers SK-Gaming, the international squad of SK. Last time these teams faced eachother was in the WC3L Season 6, where the international squad won. Today's match started at 18:00 CET, and was over pretty quick, as the Bulgarian Human player Insomnia proved his strength and defeated SK-Germany all by himself, with three mirror matches and one Human against Orc game. Today was the date of two matches, the second one being mTw.expekt and AoD-Gaming. AoD-Gaming are by many the underdogs in this league, and need to take all the points they can get against in this league. In their first endeavour they were up against the all-German team mTw.expekt, a team that proved too strong for them. At first Protois took one game, then Firestrike defeated Protois on Maelstrom, evening the score out to 1-1. On Wednesday 20:00, Mousesports is up against 4Kings, a tough task for Mouz, even though their recent additions. Let's not forget that 4Kings have added Creolophus to their roster, a strong Night Elf card. It will be interesting to see if NuKe decides to play it. On Friday 15:00 it's the battle of the Koreans, MeetYourMakers against Ninjas in Pyjamas. Expect a set of great games, hopefully ending 4-3. Last but not least is the European brawl - fnatic against Serious Gaming. Two teams that are pretty alike; small but tight and strong lineups. This game will be played on Saturday at 18:00.
