verGe in WC3L Season 10

[s]event_68[/s]

verGe defeated Mousesports in the playdown match with a close 3-2 match, and is thereby qualified for the next season of WC3L. Mousesports will have to go through the qualifier to reach WC3L Season 10.

The first of the two playdown matches was played yesterday - verGe up against Mousesports. Mousesports has recruited a couple of top European players such as Giacomo and TitaN, although they were barred in WC3L so they could not play. Instead they used SaSe, PhilBoT, HasuObs and Spell, like many times before. Looking at verGe, they were somewhat crippled after their star player Hunter had left the team. They did not only lose a solid 1on1 player but also the 2on2 team with Rainman. Instead, the Swedish player GLaiVe jumped in as his 2on2 partner.

Sweden verGe.GLaiVe2-0

Quite a scenario came up, as the last deciding match between PhilBoT and GLaiVe was a bit delayed. After their first game (won by PhilBoT), it became clear that Spell had beat Virus, making the score 2-2. The match between GLaiVe and PhilBoT was thereby the deciding one.

verGe the underdogs - 88% - 12% at GosuBet

The GosuBet stats for this match was 88% in favour for Mousesports, while only 12% of the gold were on verGe. They were clearly the underdogs, the Swede GLaiVe felt the same, he tells Gamingeye.
- I was convinced that today's [read yesterday] would end in humiliation, he says. He tells that it was not only because he was in a bad shape, and without Hunter they missed a good solo player and a solid 2on2 team. Also, one of their players Sonkie had been in a car crash and could not attend, so they had to bring in Wizard who had not played for months.

GLaiVe got important advice from Rainman

The first game was really close where GLaiVe had the advantage for quite a while but PhilBoT managed to take the first game, putting lots of pressure on the Swede. However the next two games were won by GLaiVe, much thanks to Rainman, who gave him lots of advice between the games.
This means that verGe Gaming is once again in the regular season of WC3L, while Mousesports will get another shot in the qualifiers, starting May 19th. With their new additions Giacomo and TitaN and their already strong lineup, they should be one of the favourites.
