There you have it. The two best players in Europe goes up against eachother in the invite tournament WEG Masters 2006. Grubby and ToD were both underdogs in the semi final matches against Moon and Sky, but proved their strength and won with convincing numbers - 3-0 for ToD and 3-1 for Grubby.
ToD shocking everybody with 3-0 vs. Sky
Many Europeans might have missed the first semi final between ToD and Sky, since it was played early at seven o' clock. ToD totally ran over Sky, in three amazing games, where Sky's strategy simply wasn't enough.
- People say that because of this match I am the best Human player, ToD said after the game. However he points out that it can not be settled with a mirror match.
- There are some matchups that he [Sky] is better than me, and there are some matchups where I am better, so it's ridiculus to say who is the best. After that, he ended the interview with the Chinese reporter to say "Grubby fighting!", clearly cheering for his friend.
Grubby, also the underdog
In LAN finals, Grubby had never defeated Moon. In the Star Wars II he won, and in MBC PL V and OGN 2005 he also defeated the Dutch Orc player. Not many of the experts believed in Grubby, although the maps were at his advantage. The GosuBet was pretty even but still in the advantage of Moon - 58% to 42%. Grubby must have prepared a lot for this match, he seemed stronger than ever once getting a slight advantage on Moon. He dominated the first game, then lost the second game, making it a tie 1-1. The following two games were won by Grubby, who will now face his friend ToD in the Grand Final of WEG Masters 2006.
