Team Liquid headed for Trinity Series playoffs after 6-5 vs. Alliance

The horseheads are the first to lock a top four spot after fourth consecutive win.

Team Liquid can finally catch a breath as they escaped the deadly tiebreaker knot of Trinity Series with a score good enough to qualify them for the playoffs.

Before the start of the seventh and final week of the group stage, no team’s play in the elimination phase was secure. Even table leaders Team Liquid and compLexity were threatened to miss the finals should they lose with a big amplitude.

After losing 2-6 to Virtus.pro who are finally finding their stride and are on a three-match win-streak after starting the league with two straight losses, that fate might befall compLexity after all. Although they are at a positive match record, their game score is at -2 at the moment, meaning a scenario where Tempo Storm and Luminosity beat G2 Esports and Cloud9, respectively, coL will be left just out of the top four.

Not only Liquid will be flying to California for the Trinity Series finals, but they have also secured the topmost seed with their 5-2 record. Their opponent will be the #4 seed, to be determined through this night‘s round of matches.
