Decklist spotlight: The decks of the APAC Winter Playoffs winners

What decks won the last major tournament before the Spirit Class and Small-Time Buccaneer nerfs?

Surprised is nobody: Pirate Warrior, Aggro Shaman and RenoLock dominated the meta this weekend as Japan’s “b787” headlined the APAC quartet going into the HCT Winter Championship. The first major for the region saw very polarized playstyles in its top four, where competitors ran mixtures of highly aggressive decks and highlander/anti-aggro controls with no combo decks to be seen and little to no midrange lists.

This is, of course, the last we’ll see of this meta where [card]spirit claws[/card] and [card]small-time buccaneer[/card] are at their original power level, as Update 7.1 is expected to land tomorrow, February 28. The patch is aimed at hampering the strength of the two dominant aggro decks with Shaman losing a lot from its early game presence. With Midrange Shaman enjoying popularity at the EU Winter Playoffs, however, Thrall won’t likely go extinct with the update.
