Tired of Shaman? Here are three off-meta decks to liven up your Hearthstone experience

Disclaimer: Queuing into Shaman still extremely possible.

Shamans were omnipresent on the last day of the season, and it’s not much different outside of it either. As the remaining hours of the Winter Seasons trickled away, pros gravitated towards the most consistent deck in the current metagame.

But there are still players who are willing to experiment and try new builds, whether for fun, for their streaming audiences or because there are still good decks that are yet to be discovered. Below, we offer you three such off-meta decks.

We start aggressively, with J4CKIECHAN’s Egg Druid. In a world where Malfurion decks are either midrange (Jade) or combo (Aviana/Kun), the popular streamer has chosen to go full aggro, presenting a low-curve beast-centric build. Jackie’s decks starts explosively with 16 one-mana cards and aims to finish the opponent before it runs out of gas which happens often in the late game due to lack of [card]nourish[/card] or [card]azure drake[/card]. The goal is to develop a big early-game board which can be evolved through [card]mark of the lotus[/card] and [card]power of the wild[/card] and which can then finish off with a [card]savage roar[/card] or two.

If you think that’s weird, wait till you see what Zalae is testing. The LG player has gone full balls to the wall, rocking a N’Zoth/Reno Hunter.

That’s right, in spite of Rexxar being exiled on the bottom of all rankings as the worst class in Hearthstone in current standard, there are brave souls willing to bring it out on ladder. Zalae’s build – like any Reno deck – is chock full of removal spells, cantrips and value minions. With deathrattle minions on almost every mana slot from 2 to 6, the deck slowly ramps up to a potent N’Zoth on T10… if it lives that long.

Finally, we take a look at a deck that is a bit off-meta but also very viable on the ladder. French player pAc has added a twist to standard Freeze Mage decks and has found a spot for two [card]gadgetzan auctioneer[/card]s, turning it into a Miracle Freeze.

pAc’s deck starts off as every normal Freeze Mage deck, drawing cards and controlling the board, but its potential bursts past turns 6-9. With a lot of cheap spells uncharacteristic to regular Freeze decks such as [card]freezing potion[/card], [card]mirror image[/card] and [card]arcane blast[/card], the deck can either draw a ton of cards or generate rich on [card]fireball[/card] hands with [card]archmage antonidas[/card].

[card]barnes[/card] and [card]emperor thaurissan[/card] further strengthen this deck’s game-plan.
