The GosuCrew continue with their Blizzcon predictions, looking at Groups C and D today.

Groups A and B predictions

Group C

@GGNydra predicts: Ukraine DrHippi & United States Amnesiac

Do not be fooled. THAT is the Group of Death. And it's a group that DrHippi will rule with an iron fist. In all of his televised matches so far, DrHippi has shown no notable weakness, no hesitation. He's a calculating machine with all the composure needed for the big stage of Blizzcon. His elimination would be the biggest upset of Blizzcon.

He'll likely be joined by Amnesiac, the boy genius who is bathing in the praise of his peers. According to insiders, Amnesiac is on a rigid practice routine, prepping for the biggest tournament of his career, and despite him flying under-the-radar for the majority of the year, he's the second strongest contender in the group.

@Matthieist predicts: Ukraine DrHippi & United States Amnesiac

Many people see group A as the group of death, purely because they see Thijs’ and Handsomeguy’s name. Nonsense. For this group one could easily argue we have the strongest competitors for EU, AM and China (poor Yulsic, if only Handsomeguy would lose once). It is definitely the group I spent most time pondering about. In the end I think it will be a Western victory, with Amnesiac aiming to retake the ‘young god’ title from Georgec. DrHippi, the stonecold killer, is probably the strongest player in the group and has shown absurd knowledge of the most difficult match ups. I just don’t see him NOT advancing.

@Nomlix predicts: Ukraine DrHippi & United States Amnesiac

After I already picked him quite high in my players to watch list for our Gosugamers summer awards, DrHippi has proven he’s worth following. After being known for his Freeze Mage play, he also impressed piloting other decks in the HCT summer event and he’s a force to be reckoned with for winning the whole thing. While DrHippi seems untouchable, for the second spot in the group, everything is possible. Breath facing DrHippi in his first match holds back his chances compared to the other two immensely when looking at the battle for second. With that in mind I have to give it to the young american player Amnesiac, who has shown his great knowledge about the game, but still needs to prove he can be consistent enough to be part of the best.

Group D

@GGNydra predicts: Russia Pavel & China OmegaZero

Picking Pavel to possibly win the group is a logical continuation of the Europe hype train which has captivated the majority of the community, but we ought to talk about OmegaZero here for a second. The Chinese star is coming to Blizzcon with back-to-back Gold Series championships. the first in CN history to do so, and is the ladder god of this year. I am really feeling China's line-up for this year and OmegaZero is a big reason why. He's definitely a top 8 contender.

@Matthieist predicts: Russia Pavel & Korea Ddahyoni

Let me start off first by saying that OmegaZero’s line-up looks like one of the strongest of all players. However, he’s facing South Korean DDaHyoNi in the first round: the only player to defeat Handsomeguy in a HCT tournament, in the Winter Championships finals. DDaHyoNi is a name APAC-expert DTwo has mentioned repeatedly as a strong force, and I have to agree with him. Then we have Pavel. Over the course of last year the West didn’t see much of him, but the recently-acquired Millenium player has been a silent assassin, only treading into the light during the EU Last Call to slay Hoej, Georgec and finally Rdu in dominant fashion. The young Russian seems more determined than ever, and I think he won’t allow anyone to stand in his way during the group stage.

@Nomlix predicts: Russia Pavel & China OmegaZero

While Pavel's entire year of 2016 wasn’t the most impressive so far, with close to no results, he has proven that he’s eager to show up at the HCT events after a great run in a really stacked Last Call Qualifier. After being just one win short of qualifying at last year's European Championship, this year getting to Blizzcon and now making a great run is his chance to redeem himself.

For the remaining three players, I think OmegaZero looks the most promising to me, his slight twists to the pretty stale meta in this tournament might give him the advantage to advance out of his group with his Dragon Warrior and “no Malygos Druid” lists.
