Reynad explains the World Series of Sealed 2.0 format

On October 4-5, one of Hearthstone's most unique tournaments is making its return.

In April this year, eight players were summoned to the Esports Arena in California for a tournament like no other. Combining Hearthstone matches with the sealed deckbuilding principle and the cash pools and betting techniques of poker, the World Series of Sealed offered a total pot of $6,000 with each competitor starting with even $1,000. In the end, it was Cong "StrifeCro" Shu who bested Paul "Zalae" Nemeth for the championship.

In just under a week, Temnpo Storm and Esports Arena are bringing the unusual tournament back. The line-up of players is up to eight this time around, and they will be playing, as Tempo Storm founder Andrey "Reynad" Yanyuk puts it, "essentially a huge round robin". While two competitors engage in a Hearthstone match, the remaining six will us the gold at their disposal to make bets of all kinds, including the outcome of the match and/or that of certain cards.

A redraft option will be given to the two players with the lowest gold stack at the end of day one. On day two, October 5, the player with the most gold on his person will take the title and the direct invitation to the third installment.

Who will take part in the tournament is still unclear.
