On Wednesday, Kobe “Guukboii” Van Schepdael became the fourth GosuCup EU champion for this month. This is what he used.
Guukboii is no stranger to competitive Hearthstone. Currently a member of Sector_ONE, he is an active player in local Hearthstone tournaments and was one of the sixteen players competing at the $25,000 Viagame HouseCup #2. Although he took a two-month sabbatical from major televised tournaments, the last one being Truesilver Champion’s redemption cup in March, the Belgian returned this Wednesday to win GosuCup HCT EU #4.
It wasn’t easy for Guukboii to do that. Though many of his opponents in earlier round could be classified as lesser-known competitors, Guukboii eventually ran into Hearthstone household name Harald “Powder” Gimre, currently ranked under #17 in the world GosuRankings. A 3-1 victory over one of the most consistent players in the game moved him onwards to play Greek player Thanos “Tsiboukis” Vasilas, where a 3-0 won him the coveted 3 HCT points.
