Assembly Winter groups are drawn. Mark calendars for Feb 5

The tournament is coming on streams February 5 to open another busy weekend of Hearthstone action.

For the third time, Assembly will welcome an international Hearthstone competition on its turf. Following the coronation of Teun “Vortex” Eielts and Wei Lin “Tom60229” Chen as its two champions last year, the Finnish circuit will open its doors to sixteen other card slingers this weekend.

Unlike its Assembly Summer predecessor, which was a 32-player event with $25,000 prize pool and HWC points on the line, Assembly Winter 2016 is a bit smaller. The player field is composed of Europeans only and the purse is at €3,000 but that shouldn’t discourage anyone from watching. While the majority of the names are up and coming, the pool features established names like former champion Vortex, SK’s Sebastian “Spo” Sjöbeck, Dignitas’ Lewis “Blackout” Spencer, recent DreamHack Winter Cinderella story Juho “Ersee” Hyödynmaa and DreamHack Leipzing champ Jon “Orange” Westberg.

The groups for the event have already been drawn and the pairings for the opening matches are available through clicking the “Schedule” button. Make sure to make your GosuBets as well, as the Assembly Winter tournament is one of your first chances to win some virtual dust for our GosuBet contest.

Full coverage of the event will be provided from our coverage hub
