The Czech star will fill Amaz’s vacant spot in Group B.

StarLadder officially announced last night that Archon founder Jason “Amaz” Chan will not be attending the StarLadder i-League LAN finals. The Hearthstone veteran was among the favorites to top his group of Justin “JAB” Black, Jung Soo “Surrender” Kim and Robin but according to the tournament organizers his packed schedule won’t allow him to make it to the $50,000 event in Minsk.

Taking his place will be reigning StarLadder champion Stanislav Cifka, who finished behind JAB and Cipher in the Last Chance Qualifier bracket. Cifka will have the rare opportunity to become the second defending LAN champion in Hearthstone’s history should he repeat his success this weekend and join the club that currently consists only of Firebat’s double Gfinity wins.

The tournament starts January 22 at 15:00 CET. Full coverage can be found here.
