Amaz wins the second edition of GEICO Brawl

The popular streamer prevailed in a seven-game battle against team-mate Paul “Zalae” Nemeth to pocket half of the $4,000 prize pool.

Saturday night saw former MTG player and current Archon member Zalae dominate the top half of the GEICO Brawl #2 bracket. The American sliced and diced through Jeffrey “Sjow” Brusi and took a tough fight against Haiyun “Eloise” Tang to make it to the grand final. There, he waited for his future opponent.

In the bottom half of the bracket, Jason “Amaz” Chan emerged as the best deckbuilder in this particular challenge. Archon’s founder took a free win in the quarter finals due to the no-show of Cong “StrifeCro” Shu and then battled Jokull “Kaldi” Johannsson in the semi finals, taking him out 3-1. This ensured an all-Archon final showdown, which would also become the most contested match of the night.

Amaz and Zalae traded game for game and the series extended to its full length of seven matches. It all came down to a battle between Divine Shielded centric decks, with Zalae on Shaman and Amaz on Paladin.
