Cloud9 picks up Massan

The popular streamer finally finds a new home after having left TSM in May.

Coming from a career in professional StarCraft 2, Harry “Massan” Cheong transitioned to playing Hearthstone in 2014, focusing primarily on streaming at the start but making several appearances at various online and offline tournaments. Known for being a skilled Arena player, Massan won his first tournament in September 2014, making a repeat grand final in Lord of the Arena and winning the second edition over Drew “TidesofTime” Biessener.

The fall of 2014 and start of 2015 came with improved competitive form of the Korean. In October, he won Heroes of Cards #2 and in 2015 he placed top four in KFC Winter in January and then took the trophy of the third edition of the Pinnacle in February.

In May this year, Massan announced his departure from Team Solomid, leaving the team after a year-long stint and citing disagreements with upcoming changes to the team. H’s been playing under no team’s standard until today, when Cloud9 officially announced they’re picking up the veteran streamer.

Massan thus joins one of the most powerful rosters in competitive Hearthstone. Boasting the talents of Cong “StrifeCro” Shu (ranked #1 in NA), Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh (ranked #2 in Europe) and TidesofTime (ranked #8 in NA), Cloud9 was the top team in our May rankings report. For Cloud9, picking up Massan is also their first player signing since they acquired TidesofTime from Tempo Storm in October last year.
