This is how the Gfinity LAN will open on Thursday

The groups have been drawn and there are some interesting David vs Goliath match-ups coming.

It's $7,000 in cash waiting on the line in London, UK and sixteen Hearthstone players are on to get them. The Gfinity Spring circuit which started last February with the first round of qualifiers is now closing towards its first offline grand finals.

Seven invited players and nine qualified ones will form the competitor pool in London, making Gfinity Spring I one of the rare events with more open slots than direct seeds. This makes for a great opportunity for names like Naiman, FaKe, Powder and Zozus - otherwise proven online regulars - to experience their first major breakthrough.

The opposition from the invited players won't be a light one, however. One of the leading Hearthstone teams in Archon is sending some of its best in Jason "Amaz" Chan, James "Firebat" Kostesich and Sebastian "Xixo" Bentert. Nihilum's Thijs "ThijsNL" Molendijk, Liquid's Yevgeniy "Neirea" Shumilin, Trig's new recruit Jan "Faramir" Engelmann and the still teamless Sebastian "Forsen" Fors are also tagging along.

The card players will have two days to crown a champion, going through a round of double elimination groups into single elimination playoffs. $4,000 will be cashed by the winner on Friday, March 13th.

A large group of casters will be covering the event, including ThatsAdmirable, Gnimsh, Monk and Kaldi.
