The lineup for the $5,000 tournament is complete and calendars ought to be marked for February 24th when the third edition of The Pinnacle will begin.
On the night of February 15th, sixteen players were summoned for The Pinnacle 3 qualifiers. The double elimination bracket was set and only three people would advance from it and into the main event in a week's time.
As tradition has it, the online cup crusher Jan "Faramir" Engelmann was one of the first to beat the bracket. Faramir was paired with Alesh, Lothar and finally Deathstar in rounds one, two and three, respectively, and had close five-game series across the board before taking one of the coveted seeds. On the other half of the bracket, Sebastian "Forsen" Fors was also making progress, going through PurpleDrank 3-2, Justsaiyan 3-1 and Ekop 3-1 to join Faramir in the main event.
The lower bracket was even more heated up, with everybody now one loss away from elimination. The LB offered just one seed for The Pinnacle 3 and many a notable name fell short of acquiring it, inlcuding Thijs "ThijsNL" Molendijk, Keaton "Chakki" Gil and Hak-Jun "Kranich" Baek. Ultimately, it was Jan "Ekop" Palys who came out victorious, ousting David "Justsaiyan" Shan 3-0.
This completes the main event line-up and we'll be waiting to see how the group distribution will turn out.
