Singapore might be third in the SEA nation standings but this doesn't mean they won't be well represented in this month's GosuCup SEA grand finals as Heng "Teckwei" Teck Wei won the fourteenth edition of the cup and joined a pantheon of great players.
Teckwei's first opponents in GosuCup SEA #14 were mostly unknown names but his round wouldn't keep the same tone throughout the entire bracket. In round four, the Singaporean player ran into Malaysian powerhouse and GosuCup regular Zi Song "Lalasong" Hee, the first in the row of Teckwei's trials. A 2-0 against Lalasong moved Teckwei to the quarter finals where another big name was waiting - BlizzCon NA Phase 1 winner Jan "Chalk" Zaldivar. Although hungry for a tournament win, Chalk had to face the hard punches of Teckwei and start the series down 0-2, a deficit he couldn't overcome.
Eventually, Teckwei made it to the finals where the final boss was none other than GosuCup #11 winner Nguyen "Charge" Thanh. And while Charge's previous history would suggest a tense grand final, the reality was quite different. It took Teckwei just three games to become the reigning GosuCup champion.
