GosuCup finds its first two-times champion [decklist inside]

For the first time in GosuCup history - in SEA and Europe both - we have a two-times champion as Dustin "WaningMoon" Mangulabnan adds the GosuCup #10 trophy to his GosuCup #6 one.

Since we started the GosuCup initiative early in 2014, we've held 30 events for European and SEA players combined but never did we have a repeat champion (despite several players coming very close to that). This weekend, we found the first one in WaningMoon.

A household name in the Philippines scene, WaningMoon first triumphed in GosuCup SEA #6, defeating fellow Filipino Pompi 3-2 to qualify for the grand finals. This Saturday, it was easier for the former champion. WaningMoon went 14-2, dropping only two games against Philippines powerhouse Kambras, and 3-0'd Haizstuff in the grand finals to take his second victory.

The Singaporean won't go home empty handed, however. In fact, as WaningMoon has already qualified for the main event, the seed will transfer to Haizstuff.

GosuCup SEA #10 standings:

1. Philippines WaningMoon - 50 Dota 2 keys
2. Singapore Haizstuff - 25 Dota 2 keys + a spot in the grand final
3. Indonesia Ihsanity - 10 Dota 2 keys
4. Vietnam Reptile182 - 5 Dota 2 keys
5-8. Philippines Kambras14 - 5 Dota 2 keys
5-8. Philippines Pompi - 5 Dota 2 keys
5-8. Singapore Teckwei - 5 Dota 2 keys
5-8. Indonesia NyikNyukNyek - 5 Dota 2 keys

In the nation standings, Vietnam and the Philippines continue their neck-and-neck race. Vietnam had a great tournament during GosuCup #8 but Philippines are back on track with WaningMoon's victory in #10 as well as Kambras' and Pompi's top 8 finishes. The difference between the countries is mere one point and the standings can change any minute.

The battle for the third place is equally vicious as Indonesia and Singapore are also a point apart.

Nation standings after week :

1. Philippines Philippines - 45 points
2. Vietnam Vietnam - 44 points
3. Indonesia Indonesia - 31 points
4. Singapore Singapore - 30 points
5. Malaysia Malaysia - 17 points
6. Thailand Thailand - 13 points
7. Laos Laos - 0 points
7. Cambodia Cambodia - 0 points
7. Burma Burma - 0 points
