DreamHack maps, time and prize splitting announced

The world's biggest LAN festival DreamHack are only five days ahead, and GosuGamers will be the ones handeling the strategy tournaments. The maps for the official StarCraft: Brood War and WarCraft 3: The Frozen Throne tournaments have been chosen. We would also like to remind you that there are tickets left.

After announcing the prize money for the StarCraft and WarCraft tournaments, the interest among gamers were a lot higher. Even though it is only five days ahead until DreamHack opens their doors, there are still tickets left. As stated in a » previous newspost, the reason for the raised prize money is because DreamHack is celebrating a 10th-year anniversary.

StarCraft


1. ~960€ (9,000 SEK)
2. ~426€ (4,000 SEK)
3. ~213€ (2,000 SEK)

WarCraft


1. ~1,600€ (15,000 SEK)
2. ~747€ (7,000 SEK)
3. ~320€ (3,000 SEK)
The prize money for StarCraft: Brood War is ~1650€ (15,000 SEK) and for WarCraft 3: The Frozen Throne ~2700€ (25,000 SEK). To the right you can see how the prize money will be split for the Top 3 in StarCraft and WarCraft.

Maps are always an important issue, and they have now been chosen. The maps will be played in a loop, meaning in the first round Lost Temple will be played (and then loser's pick), and in round two Nostalgia will be played (then loser's pick) and so on. The same thing will work for WarCraft 3. Although in Loser Bracket Lost Temple will be played all the way in both games. Below are the five maps for each tournament which will be used:

The WarCraft tournament will start on Thursday June 16 20.00 CET and go on to 03.00 CET for a pause, and then we will continue on Friday 12.00 CET. The StarCraft tournament will start on Friday June 17th 15:00 CET and be played until it is done.
