Gabe Newell:"Dota 2 won't be shipped until 2012"

It seems like not even Dota will escape the wrath of Valve time, the release date of the game is now pushed back to 2012.

"We'll just go into progressively wider and wider distribution. I don't think it'll be shipped until next year." said Gabe Newell to Eurogamers when asked about the release date of our favorite game.

There is also no fixed detail regarding the pricing as the team are still figuring out which business model will best suit the game.

Gabe Newell also confirms that there are plans to start an invite only beta testing after Gamescom with open beta following soon after.
