Invictus Gaming qualify for Manila Masters

After working their way through a number of Chinese powerhouses, Invictus Gaming are set to attend the Manila Masters this upcoming May.

The China qualifier for the Manila Masters was filled with killers all around, from TI6 champions Wings Gaming, to the young (but experienced) VG.J. Along with the likes of storied teams such as CDEC, Vici Gaming and LGD, the Chinese qualifier was set to be a slaughterhouse. Despite this, Invictus Gaming cruised through to the Grand Finals of the qualifiers, dropping no games until they faced off against LGD in the Bo5, where they only dropped one game.

iG joins the likes of EG, OG, Newbee and Team Secret as they wait for the last three teams to be determined, one of which will be through a highly contested Philippines qualifier. Although they have qualified, iG have little room to breathe, as they are also qualified for the fast approaching DAC 2017, and the Kiev Major. iG looks to be quite busy these upcoming months, but under the leadership of veteran Xu 'BurNIng' Zhilei, the squad looks to be in fine form.

The Manila Masters LAN finals is set to be held from May 26-28 in the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila Philippines and features a $250,000 USD prize pool. It might be easy to forget the Manila Masters after the hype that will be the Kiev Major, but it looks to be just as competitive given the small pool of teams. The tournament, hosted in a partnership between ESL and The Mineski Events team, will no doubt feature top notch production, so be sure not to miss out on this SEA slugfest.
