The Chinese and South East Asian regional qualifiers for ESL One Genting will kick off today.
Both region brackets will commence on the 16th of November but with different formats. Having only eight teams participating in the Chinese qualifiers, the competition features a double elimination, best-of-three bracket where the winners will secure a ticket to the LAN playoffs from Genting, Malaysia. With Wings Gaming being the only Chinese team to receive a direct invite to the main event, the battle it’s now open for Newbee, LGD with both of its squads, VG Gaming and VG J, Invictus Gaming, CDEC and FTD C.
Held in Malaysia in the first week of the next year, ESL One Genting sent a direct invite to Fnatic and will also organize a special Malaysian qualifier session. On top of that, the SEA scene will be granted one more spot into the LAN playoffs via regional qualifiers where twelve teams are ready to start the brawl. Unfortunately, due to schedule conflicts, Team Faceless and Warriors Gaming Unity will not be able to attend the ESL One Genting SEA qualifiers. Without them among the participating teams, the tier one invites went to Execration, Signature Trust, Mineski and MVP Phoenix.
