The post-Major qualifier shuffle is sometimes inevitable for the teams that failed to secure a main event presence, and this time it's the CIS pro scene shaking and looking to regroup in time for the next year’s tournaments.
After Na`Vi announced three of their players were leaving the organization at the beginning of this week, it's Team Empire's turn to make an announcement. Warning their fans that this is not the only change that will be made at Team Empire, the Russian organization announced the departure of their carry of nearly two years, Ilya 'ALOHADANCE' Korobkin. Exiting the team for the second time in his career, ALOHADANCE joined Empire for the first time in December 2014 and went through good and bad days with the team until the post-Shanghai Major shuffle when he joined Virtus.pro. However, the 2016 Spring roster of VP was short lived, and ALOHADANCE gave it a try to the F.R.I.E.N.D.S squad for about two months.
Just before the Boston Major regional qualifiers, ALOHADANCE returned to Team Empire and fought for a spot into the 2016 Fall Major from the open qualifiers. Unfortunately for him and his team they didn’t manage to survive the BO1 gauntlet in both sessions. Two weeks after the Boston Major qualifiers affair, Team Empire bid farewell to ALOHADANCE and wished him the best of luck with his future plans.
