The DotaPit League Season 3 Qualifiers are underway and the final two spots at the main event are up for grabs for 6 of the remaining teams. At stake is a piece of a prize pool of at least $80,000.
Six teams are left in the fight to join Team Secret, Evil Geniuses, and the rest of the ten invited teams at the DotaPit League Season 3 main event on February 12th. Only the two finalists will be able to compete for a prize pool of at least $80,000, with the community contributing more through the purchase of the tournament compendium, treasure chest, and cosmetic set.
With most of the upper bracket games already completed, it’s Moscow Five International and Vega Squadron who stand atop the rest. M5, in particular, looked strong in their action packed games, triumphing on the back of Vladimir ‘PGG’ Anosov’s impressive Vengeful Spirit play. The two teams are set to play each other in the upper bracket finals, with the winner guaranteeing themselves a spot at the main event.
Meanwhile, it was North America’s compLexity Gaming and Kalle ‘Trixi’ Saarinen's 4 Anchors squad who were the first to be eliminated from the qualifiers. In their first best of three of the tournament, 4ASC allowed mYinsanity to draft Gordan ‘g0g1’ Prosic’s unstoppable Axe who, in turn, culled the Finnish team from the upper bracket. It was in the lower bracket that they lost against Trixi's former teammate Adrian 'Era' Kryeziu and and a Ninjas in Pyjamas crew hot off their victory at the Area-51 cup. NiP continued their climb through the lower bracket today, eliminating Basically Unknown with a Slardar-centered negative armor strategy that crushed Unknown's Troll Warlord/Juggernaut draft.
