Virtus.Pro earns the MSI.Beat IT! title after 3-1 victory against Immunity

The Russian squad Virtus.Pro have earned their first gold medal of the year in MSI.Beat IT! 2014, after their dominant 3-1 performance against Team Immunity. The five players will take home the $25,000 first place prize.

This is a day of joy for the fans of Virtus.Pro, as the team's solid performance has led them to their first tournament victory in 2014. After reaching the single-elimination playoffs of MSI Beat IT! 2014, Virtus.Pro managed to take down both the Chinese CDEC and Team Immunity to earn their spot as the first place winners of this tournament.

The third and final day of the MSI Beat IT! offline phase featured the four surviving teams from the demanding groupstage. The first round opened with Rave going against the Team Immunity, the Australians scored an unexpected victory in the best-of-three Semi-Final against the Philippine favorites. On the other hand, Virtus.Pro had to surpass the difficult obstacle of CDEC, the team that dominated Group B.

The Grand Finals opened with Team Immunity successfully using a nuke-based strategy to counter Virtus.Pro's teamfight lineup and win the first game of the series. Despite their damaged morality, the Russians managed to even the gamescore using a strategy built around Bzz's Slark, who snowballed out of control despite sLiCkz's well-farmed Morphling. The Australians used a greedy four-core lineup for the third battle, gaining a solid mid-game advantage due to sLiCkz's Windrunner plays. Nevertheless, Virtus.Pro turned the tides yet again, winning consecutive late-game teamfights with Reaper's Scythe burst and Ravage. The last game of the Grand Final was another example of wasted advantage by Immunity, as they were unable to abuse their well-farmed Razor and Ember Spirit against the push-oriented strategy of the Russians.

This is an important victory for Virtus.Pro, a team that has been struggling with roster instability since 2013. While no one can predict the future, especially for the CIS scene, it seems that the club has finally found five players that are willing to work together and overcome the difficulties they face.

Prize Distribution:

1st - Russia Virtus.Pro - $25,000+
2nd - Australia Team Immunity - $12,000+
3rd - China CDEC - $7000+
