The Summit Europe - DOG, PR, Fnatic and RoX.KIS move to the next round

The round-robin phase of the European qualifiers of The Summit is over. The top four teams have managed to qualify for the following round and the double-elimination bracket that leads to Los Angeles finals.

The upcoming tournament The Summit was announced back in March, and it is one of the several international competitions taking place in 2014. It features both an online and LAN phase, with the participants fighting over a $50,000 prize pool (with a crowd funding boost from the DotaTV ticket). The tournament includes three regional qualifiers for Europe, Asia and America, with the Asian and American qualifiers including two stages - the pre-qualifiers and the main qualifiers (for Europe it is just one stage).

The European round-robin groupstage has ended, and each of the eight participants played their seven games against the other teams. In the end, Team DOG managed to top the leaderboard with a 6-1 gamescore, followed by ESFX.Power Rangers and Fnatic that both have a 5-2 score. (PR is in front due to the head-to-head match result against Fnatic). The final-four is completed by RoX.KIS, with the Russians earning their advancement through their tie-breaking victory against NEXT.Kz.

The four teams will have to survive the double-elimination bracket of the playoffs, with best-of-three matches that lead to the best-of-five qualifier final. The winner of the last battle will be flying to Los Angeles to participate in the finals of The Summit.
