Cyberathlete Amateur League has been around for more than five years, but it was not until April 2006 they opened up a StarCraft ladder. CAL has for many years been a First Person Shooter league and is mostly known in the USA but at the CAL site you can read that they have over sixty game divisions and that they have over hundreds of thousands of registered league members.

Their first season of StarCraft was not that much of a succes. Troubles with false forfeit wins and being of a lesser priority than the other CAL divisions. Moon-Ki Kang, administrator fo the league writes in a newspost that he is sorry.
- I sincerely apologize. I hope to bring about some new changes to help fix these issues, he says, and that the next season will be better.

The registrations for the league opened today, and will be open until October 13th. There will be a pre-season with a one-week timespan. More detailed rules will be announced shortly, but already a set of major changes has been made official:
  • 1 match per week
  • 12 week season
  • Default day for 1v1 is Thursday, and Wednesday for 2v2
  • Schedules are released on Saturdays (This means you have around 4-5 days to play and schedule you match)
  • Last day to play your matches is Friday.
Sign up by following the link below. Good luck to all players, and we hope that the second season can turn out better than the first one.
