NaW wins Nordic Clan League

A Clan League for the Nordic teams - the NCL, was finished a couple of days ago. Winners of the first season turned out to be the Swedish team Nerds at Work (NaW).

A total of eight teams stood on the start line for about three months ago - Attitude, BW-, Don't Waste my Time, gamePlay, Going Effective Together, Nerds at Work, The Toxic Deathmakers and Unusual eVolution.

A regular season - then a playoff

First, all teams faced eachother to determine the seeding for the playoffs. #1 against #8, #3 against #6 etc. Clan BroodWar (BW-), who only got to play with their second lineup due to the many star players. This was supposed to be an amateur league, so Mireille, Fox, ZpuX and the other top players in Sweden didn't play. This didn't stop them from winning the regular season, with 6 wins and only a loss against Unusual eVolution in the last playday.

So the finals begun, and Brood War was seeded first, and faced The Toxic Deathmakers, and won. Unusual eVolution defeated the Norwegian team gamePlay. The only Finnish team Don't waste My Time did did not make it to the second round of the playoffs, as they lost to the Norwegian team Going Effective Together. The last match of the quarter final was the two Swedish teams Attitude and Nerds at Work, which NaW won.

Team Brood War surprisingly out against gamePlay

The semi-finals were won by gamePlay and Nerds at Work, leaving Brood War and Going Effective together in the mud. The Grand Final was a very close match, ending 3-2 in favour for Nerds at Work. The team manager for Nerds at Work, Emerald, was very happy about the win.
- I'll sleep well tonight, he said afterwards in an interview with Gamingeye. He mentinos that the players who won in the Grand Finals were key players.

$80 bucks to the Nerds - members tell their manager to keep it

“ Some of the members in the clan have suggested that I were to keep them myself, they think I deserve them ”

Due to winning this, Nerds at Work will receive a prize sum of $80 USD, not much in comparison of other leagues, but still any prize is good.
- Some of the members in the clan have suggested that I were to keep them myself, they think I deserve them, says Emerald. But he declines, and says he's not that greedy. He has plans instead of using them for their next clan reunion.

Nerds at Work does not plan on attending the second season of the Nordic Clan League, due to having too many clanwars already. But Emerald says if the prize money gets bigger, they might join up anyway.
