SMM Grand Nationals with €7,500 to the winner

The Asian-based SMM DotA Grand Nationals are back, and with a prize purse of RM 120,000 it will surely be a nice injection in the Malaysian DotA world.

A total of 10 qualifiers will be held throughout Malaysia to find the best of the best DotA team. The Grand Final will then be played in the capital city of Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur, where the four best teams from every qualifier goes head to head in a stunning final.

This event has existed since 2006, which was back then won by WN-SK, followed by Team Wizz 1. WN-SK could walk home with RM30,000, while Team Wizz 1 settled for RM10,000. More than 300 gamers participated back then, and in the 2007 event the popularity went over the roof. Last year's tournament was won by Kingsurf, a position that gave xiaogui and his men RM30,000.

The big favorites to bring this home is of course Kingsurf, who we saw end second place in the Asian DotA championship in 2008, as well as a third place in Prime Defending 8. Kingsurf is also the reigning champion of the SMM Grand National Dota Tournament.

First prize in the national final is a total of RM 36,000, which is equivalent to approximately €7,500. Winning a state final will give a team €420.

It's in asia. Prices for Dota have always been big in asia, so nothing new. If we could get that in europe then it would be something interesting. Gl to all teams hope to see some good games.
