SearchDay One of ESWC

Day one of ESWC is over and the usual suspects have qualified to the second group stage with just a few surprises along the road.Day one is finally over! Lots of games were played and the tensions were high as every team tried their best to qualify for the second group stage. But in the end only eight teams could proceed. Check out who was able to proceed in the table below.

In Group A the top ranking teams, MYM and Aeon, was able to pull through and qualify to the second round. However a surprise occured in the group when Bulgaria.DotA was able to defeat ESWC 2008 champions, Aeon. While in Group B, Nirvana.GiGa.int made a clean sweep going undefeated in their group, with DTS trailing behind with two wins and one loss.
As for Group C, Online Kingdom put up an incredible show by beating LOST in their first match and then continuing their momentum by beating CNB and ReBorn to stay high in their group. LOST had to settle with second place with their two wins and one loss.
No surprises in Group D, EHOME and Nv.GiGa.my qualified as expected.
With the first group stages already finished, the organizers have released the brackets for the second group stages which can be seen as follows.

It seems that fans will be treated to a good show as both Nirvana teams are placed in the same group. Who wouldn't want to see the battle of the two teams? In Group B we'll see the two Asian favorites to win, EHOME and Aeon battling it out for supremacy. Place your predictions in the comments below. | Group 1 has it wayyy too easy, I don't think AEON and EHOME should be in the same group. Oh well, abit harder to predict for group 1, but pretty sure its gonna be EHOME and AEON through in group 2. OK, and 1 of the NV teams will probably go through for g1. Pack ur bags MYM and LOST, u guys are going home :P |

| I believe "random-ed" is just a disguise to allow winners of the 1st group stage not to meet each other till the later part of the compy. ... unless zeyall really did saw the process of the officials random-ing the teams into the respective 2nd group stages, then i have no comments. GO AEON!!! |

| I believe that in this ESWC, Nirvana.int has a very big chance of winning the whole thing. They've won all 3 games rather easily (except for the DTS game) and they have an excellent anti-carry strat now that will damage EHOME and Aeon. Do not underestimate them, their coordination is superb. I'm also wondering why it says that LAN (EoY) only played 2 games in the scoreboard. Because if they did only play 2 games... controversy? |
