From September 14th, a total of 21 teams from the SEA regions begun their battle to become champions of Wild Rift. The WR SEA Championships 2021 saw many teams unable to progress out of the initial Play-in stage, with even more falling by the wayside in the Group Stages. For  SBTC Esports, they were lucky enough to skip the initial stages, going straight to the Group Stage, where they dominated in what was a verifiable “group of death”. The Vietnamese squad dropped only two games, one against Flash Wolves and the other against Alliance, as they took the top spot in Group B, and secured a spot in the second round of Playoffs.

From then on out, there was no stopping SBTC Esports as they took down every challenger in their path – although it was not always easy. The team almost threw away a two-game lead over Team Secret early on in the playoffs, but managed to hold on to reach the next round, where Buriram United were almost successful in taking them down. However, a perfect reverse sweep saw SBTC take a 3-2 win to become the first grand finalist at the SEA Championships. With that win, the team had only to await their challenger, which turned out to be a rematch against Team Secret.

This time, there were no questions to be asked, as even after their dropped the first game, SBTC found their footing and pummeled their opponents into submission, taking a 4-1 victory in the grand finals. With that, the team became the first ever Wild Rift SEA Champions, securing their spot at the Horizon Cup later this year, ready to represent their country and possibly secure another huge title.

With some amazing performances by the entire squad, but especially the middle lane player, July, ADC, Kiral and Jungler, TF, SBTC Esports stood proudly atop their platform as the SEA Championship 2021 victors. We look forward to seeing the team in action once again at the Horizon Cup later this year.
